CAMPAIGN: Face Your Dragon — Lethal Means Safety
LOS ANGELES — September 11, 2025 — Emmy-award-winning, service-disabled veteran-owned agency Gig Line Media and veteran-led studio New War Productions today announced a creative alliance in support of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) “Face Your Dragon” lethal means safety initiative, an awareness effort urging Veterans, Service members, and their families to create time and space during moments of crisis through the simple action of securing firearms. The initiative is part of VA’s broader Lethal Means Safety “Keep It Secure” campaign which encourages the use of practical tools such as lock boxes, gun safes and free cable gun locks available at local VA facilities.
The collaboration brings together Gig Line Media’s trusted reputation for delivering authentic, military-community storytelling for federal partners and social-impact campaigns, and New War Productions’ veteran-driven creative leadership inspired by Marine veteran Rudy Reyes, a featured voice in Face Your Dragon. Together, the teams will amplify lethal means safety messaging, promote secure firearm storage, and empower families with clear, actionable options that fit their household and lifestyle.
“As warriors, we are trained to face overwhelming odds with courage and discipline,” said Rudy Reyes, Recon Marine veteran and instructor on Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.
“But when the battle turns inward, the bravest thing you can do is create space, secure your weapons, and give yourself or your brothers and sisters the chance to fight another day. ‘Face Your Dragon’ is about confronting those demons head on—and knowing you don’t have to do it alone.”
Face Your Dragon portrays Veterans and Service members confronting a metaphorical dragon that symbolizes the weight of a suicide crisis, and choosing to move forward together. The campaign’s core guidance is simple and life-saving: “Securing your firearms creates time and space.” VA underscores that adding time and distance between a person in crisis and a lethal means can prevent tragedy.
If you or someone you know is in crisis, confidential support is available 24/7 from the Veterans Crisis Line: Dial 988, then Press 1, chat online, or text 838255. You do not need to be enrolled in VA benefits to connect. Veterans Crisis Line
